Dashed Hopes

After the burst of the bubble, my cash flow went in the red. My hopes to cash in my chips, become a script writer and play guitar in Tampico went by the boards.
__________

I wrote this for the Week 61 Trifextra Writing Challenge where we are to write a 33 word composition using an idiom.

Your comments are appreciated.

    1. In in order to be able to use "in the red", I had to exaggerate a little, but I did take a hit in the crash. I still plan to retire and write and play guitar. Thanks Valerie.

    Great job, Lumdog!

  14. Sorry about the bad luck. Wonderful piece though. A script writer and guitar player, sounds like paradise. I can't play an instrument but if you ever need one of those chics that softly bang a tambourine, let me know. :)

  15. Thanks Donetta. You'd be great on the tambourine. But, I think there are some rowdy people in the bars in Tampico! :)

    1. Yeah, being in the dark would suck like the people I wrote about in my last post about gay marriage.

    1. Thanks Sam. I tried to use an idiom for every word, but couldn't guite come up with one for script writer or guitar player. I'm glad you thought this was funny. That was my plan. :)
