_________
This week, many people have said that I am the spitting image of the new Pope. As many times as I’ve heard this, I really don’t see the resemblance. That’s me on the left and that’s Pope Francis on the right.
Me |
Pope Francis |
What
do you think?
In honor of the new pope’s election, I wrote a poem, entitled “Papal Chase”, which is not part of my entry, but is something I wanted to share with this quirkish and eclectic group of readers.
Cardinals
debated and deliberated
Cannon
commentators speculated
Talking
heads examined papal precepts
And
pondered whether the smoke was truly white Vatican experts analyzed, prognosticized
and philosophized
On
the sidelines, we squirmed and fidgeted,
and
fretted and sweated
So
happy to have witnessed
A
new spectator sport!
This is great!!! A wonderful tribute to the pope. You know, you strike a huge resemblance of Mr. Brad Pitt. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought too! Thanks Donetta. :)
DeleteSo, Mrs Lumdog looks like angie jolie and you all have 14 kids from several countries? awesome. Can I borrow a million dollars?
ReplyDeleteOnly if you know of some foreign kids we can adopt.
DeleteI may be willing to lease or rent mine out on an as needed basis. What is the going rate these days? :)
DeleteThis is hilarious. I love how you think out of the box. Great job!! Thanks so much for linking up. We love it when you come visit!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mel. I always love hooking up with Ketchup. :)
DeleteThis was fantastic. You must get asked for your autograph all the time. I loved the poem, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Becky. Yeah, autograph thing is a drag. Thanks for liking the poem too. :)
ReplyDeleteMr. Pitt AKA Lumdog,
ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant. I always enjoy your fine work.
Thanks for such kind words Bo! :)
DeleteIf you look like Brad Pitt, I want your phone number. NOW. ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED your prose, it was creative, inspired and made me giggle. Being a catholic has been a exciting journey this week (insert sarcasm and frustration with my religion. ;)
Well, ok, maybe I'm just a little better looking than Brad, but these things are so subjective. Glad yu liked my little Pope piece though I was really making fun of the media. Kir, thanks for coming by and commenting, as always.
DeleteOn behalf of post-Katrina New Orleans, I want to say thank you for everything that you and the good people at the Make It Right Foundation have done for our city. Please tell our pal Ellen hi for me the next time you see her.
ReplyDeleteWait, what? You were KIDDING? Aww, man!
Well, thanks for playing anyway, LD. Great stuff. :)
Ouch! I didn't know the history there. I could have just as easily chosen another picture of myself, where people say I have a close resemblance to George Clooney. Thanks Michele.
ReplyDeleteOh, and fine poetry it is too. Clever and most original 'almost' 57 words. I think there is something fishy about the photo on the left, but I can't put my finger on it.
