Scattered thoughts and fears
And regrets over love,
Lost and gained
And, like a room,
Full, with relics and memories
It must give way
To love, compassion and peace
__________
I wrote this for the Trifextra Week 36 Writing Challenge where we were required to write a composition using a metaphor or simile inspired by one of several photographs.
Your comments are appreciated.
Cluttered...scattered...regrets. really powerful words. Good job! Reminded me of the movie "A Beautiful Mind"
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea. Yeah, the picture reminded me of that movie too.
DeleteI would love to get in there and see what all of those say and draw some meaning from it. I love your idea.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kenya. I blew the picture up on my i phone and could read some of the pieces of paper. It's an interesting collection of stuff.
DeleteHey! You picked the same picture I did. Us cluttered minds think alike! Wow. This is a thoughtful and thought provoking 33 words!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. For sure, my mind is cluttered ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat an interpretation. And what perfect words to put it in writing.
ReplyDeleteRuby, thank you for your kind words.
DeleteI love particularly the first two lines. They set up the rest of it beautifully. Nice work indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie. I appreciate those comments.
ReplyDeleteYour words seemed to fit the picture perfectly--because really, don't most of our minds look like that? Except with more of those post-it notes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina. I agree. Problem is, I lose the post-it's that are in my head!
Deletei love how you took this prompt into a poem. it makes all those thoughts and feelings tangible.
ReplyDeleteThank you Renada. All those thoughts came to me as soon as I looked at the photo.
DeleteNot to be redundant but I'm going to be just that.... Yes! Cluttered minds look and feel like this especially over love, lost and gained. And our mind's room is filled with such things.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me sad and happy all at once. Peace (of mind), for me, is priceless! Beautifully done, lumdog!
Thank you so much Gina. You really hit the nail on the head. If I had a few more words to work with, I would have written pretty much what you said.
DeleteWell done. Great idea to blow up the photo to see the papers. I am very curious to see what that is about!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lucy.
Deletewell filled words for a well filled room (RogRites)
