A friend talks about everything and anything; pure joy.
A lover takes you places you never thought you'd go.
And a friend and lover gives this joy and love and is there...forever.
___________
I wrote this for Trifextra Week 34 Writing Challenge where we are supposed to write about something (or someone) that (who) does three things at the same time.
Your comments are appreciated.
Your words are so perfect. Always.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Ruby!
DeleteI like it! It summarizes what our relationships all should be like!
ReplyDeleteYes, the last relationship is what we strive for and what I thought was "everything". Thank you.

ReplyDeleteDon't know what happened there but this is what I said...
DeleteOh, to have both. That which dreams are made of...
I'll order a #1 and #3, please. Well done, lumdog!
Thank you Gina. I like your take on this. I was thinking that the third relationship was the ultimate, but having a friend who brings joy is valuable too.
DeleteThat's exactly what I meant in my first sentence (oh, to have both). To have friend and lover combined...perfect!
DeleteThanks Gina :)
DeleteLovely piece. Really enjoyed reading this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly.
DeleteWhen you have these, you have achieved nirvana, I would hope. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina. Nirvana is a good way to describe it.
DeleteA friend, a lover, a friend and lover! --Very nice Lumdog. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda.
DeleteWonderful and endearing.
ReplyDeleteProof that any situation has a good part - you kept it all positive.
Thank you BT. I always try to be positive. But this is a positive subject, I think!
DeleteOh, so sweet, loving one's best friend. Well, my BFF is a gay man, so no dice there, but the man who caught my heart first played Beanie Baby toss with my bored daughter at a praise band rehearsal. I thought, "What a nice guy." Fourteen years later (and at daughter's REQUEST!), we got married. This is a wonder of a love story, no matter what kind of love it is... Amy

Thank you Amy. I'm glad you noticed the forever part. That is the third and most important thing about what these friends and lovers are. My love story is a wonder too!

ReplyDeleteThank you. I love that you want to go hug your husband!
DeleteTo encompass both and become that third is the ultimate contentment. I love the way your mind works.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Stephanie!
DeleteWhat a lovely love story in 33 words. Yes! friendship is as important in marriage as romance. :-)
ReplyDelete~Imelda
Thank you Imelda. I think friendship and romance are critical. One without the other is nothing.
DeleteI love this :) Luckily my love is an awesome friend too :D This reminds me of how special he is ^ ^ Great writing! :D
ReplyDeleteAmyBird x
Thanks so much Amy. I'm glad this served as a reminder.
DeleteLol! I saw Gina's comment on my way down to make one. Great minds think alike. I was going to say, I'll take some of that to go. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kenya.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have all three, it's the Trifecta of Life. Nice!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! Thanks Sandra.
DeleteYou talked about a friend and a lover and both making them seem like one person in 3 roles....great. At least that is what I presumed.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I was a little obscure. A friend might not be there forever. The same with a lover. So, in my mind, the commitment to be a friend and lover forever was the third thing. Thanks for your comments Habiba. I always enjoy reading your work.
DeleteI'm actually trying to comment on bunnies, but Blogger is having nothing doing. It appears to think you have your limit of remarks or something.
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder what kind of gravy Mirna is serving him and if he'll ever realize that his biscuits are a little bit extra mealy.
Thank you Jessie.
Deleteand I thought I was the romantic...it seems you are outshining me in that arena these days..
ReplyDeleteI liked it, and yes, when you have a person in your life that is all those things, it is as if Heaven has made a place for you.
nice work my friend.
That's what I thought too. Thanks Kir.
