I
might fall into the abyss
My
head spins, my heart stops and my stomach flops
I’m
a train wreck…
Does
this Xanax stuff really work?.....For hyperbole?
________
I wrote this for the Trifextra Week 55 Writing Challenge where we are to write 33 words using hyperbole.
That is a lot for one little pill to fix! Nicely written.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. I was thinking that! ;)
DeleteHmmm, maybe lithium?
ReplyDeleteNice job with the prompt!
I assume that's a stronger one? Maybe, that's the trick! Thanks Renee.
DeleteI've never had one but if all that's going on, I'd take two. But what do I know? Fun lumdog!
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe. Like you, I never had one.
DeleteBut the bigger problem is the cure for overuse of hyperbole. Maybe an intensive writing class? :)
Where are my manners. Thanks for your comments Gina!
DeleteI don't think so...
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. Thanks Ted.
Deletenone of my pills work for hyperbole. It's the worst thing in the world.
ReplyDeleteYeah, fun to play with but deadly in when actually used in writing. Thanks for "getting" it.
DeleteThank you Bo.
ReplyDeleteLet me know how that works for ya, I might need to check it out too.
ReplyDeleteWe will see. Thanks Tara.
DeleteExcellent!!! It's no secret, I'm prescribed xanex. You'll need something stronger. :) lol. This was very good!
ReplyDeleteThank you Donetta. :)
DeleteThere will 'hyper' posts and calming ones, I liked your version LD.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I appear calm on the outside, but I'm pretty hyper. But not as bad as my character! :)
DeleteLet me know if it does. :) Nice one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra.
DeleteI guess we'll know if it works if you win again this weekend (:
ReplyDeleteI'll take five, then I'll see if I can avoid falling off the cliff! Thanks Draug.
DeleteTrain wreck + Xanex = ? ... Tune in next week for the exciting (zonked out?) conclusion! Cute entry, well done :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe my character won't use hyperbole so excessively if he's zonked out. Great suggestion! :)
DeletePILLS CURE NOTHING!!! AND THERE IS NO CURE FOR HYPERBOLE!!!
ReplyDelete(I'm on a hyperbole as CAPS rampage, sorry)
Excellent take, lumdog!
HA HA!! Thanks. I needed someone to yell and slap me senseless! Ah...my character, that is! ;) Thanks Kymm.
DeleteHa! This is great! Love the train wreck imagery. Also, if the makers of Xanax get wind of this I'm sure hyperbole will be listed as one of the things it can fix. ;)
ReplyDeleteI will be expecting a commission if that happens. Thanks Suzanne. :)
DeleteXanax only works for low perbole.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that insight. Now, on to find a cure for puns! ;)
Deletenah, my pills make hyperbole worse...lol
ReplyDeleteI liked this.
Thanks Lance. Yeah, I can see how that could happen.
DeleteI think that you did a great job with the hyperbole, as long as you didn't drive or operate heavy machinery.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina. I'll remember that. I hope my computer isn't considered heavy machinery! ;)
Deletemaybe a handful :) good one ^^
ReplyDeleteThank you Shopaholic!
DeleteSleep is the cure for hyperbole. Plus you'll wake up feeling like a million bucks.
ReplyDelete(So watch out for the antlers.)
Thanks Guap. Never thought of sleep as a cure for over the top writing but I won't buck your advice. If there were only a cure for puns! :)
DeleteThe cure for puns is pun-ishment.
ReplyDeleteI'll take what's coming to me. Thanks Sam.
DeleteWhat a great piece of writing-loved it:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Atreyee.
DeleteHa! We need a pill for everything don't we. Like the wit and sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
